Buckner Food Pantry

COMMUNITY SERVICE LEAGUE (BUCKNER FOOD PANTRY)

CSL is an organization that was started during World War II to help out Service Men's families that were struggling to live on their income. Bess Truman was a charter member of CSL. It's headquarters is still in Independence. It has branches in Buckner, Grain Valley and Oak Grove.
The purpose today is to help needy families that are are struggling to make it on their small incomes.
Buckner branch serves Buckner, Levasy and Sibley. Those needing help must show Social Security #, proof of living in this area and a current pay check stub or other means of indication of the amount of aid that they have received. They need to bring this information each month. They may come to CSL only once a month.
Buckner CSL is located in the basement of the Community Church of Christ - on  highway BB, across from the Buckner cemetary.
