Celebrate the Presence of Jesus Christ and Proclaim his Message to All!

Donation of Bibles

 
Our youth, in Children's Church, studied and learned about our
covenant partner church in Mozambique.
As a result of their studies, they decided to collect monies for the
purchase of Bibles for our covenant partner in Nhagoho, Mozambique.
The response, below, was just received.
 
Good news!  Your Bibles were delivered to Nhagoho UMC delegates during Annual Conference earlier in December! Ezequiel delivered the Bibles to DS Andre Arnaldo Vilanculos and pastor Graça Pondeca.  You can see from their smiles in the attached photo that they are very happy to receive the Bibles for the Nhagoho congregation!
 
MI representative, Ezequiel Nhantumbo, writes in his story, “During the session’s breaks, the MI representative, Ezequiel Nhantumbo, distributed Bibles and hymnals to a number of churches, gifts from Missouri covenant partners. “We are finding insufficient words to express our gratitude for the gifts of Christian life growth we are receiving from our brothers and sisters. Thank you very much Missouri! We are blessed!”- said DS Andre Mudungazi on behalf of the people of Nhagoho UMC [one of the three churches who received Bibles from their partners].
 
With this gift, you help to spread the word of God, even in Nhagoho, Inhambane Province, Mozambique.  I had the privilege of visiting Nhagoho in October and can tell you that this area is very, very poor.  What a blessing they have received from you this Christmas!  May your holiday be meaningful and your ministries continue to be fruitful and blessed in the coming year.

Greetings to the people of Missouri- the  Buckner UMC congregation!
 
Let the power of God and His blessings be upon your Pastor and the congregation as we approach Christmas celebration. We would be pleased to hear that you are all doing alright and that your work goes well in your area.
 
By His grace we have had a wonderful year, despite problems we always face in our lives. It is joy to inform you that the work of God went on well and that we are continuing spreading the good news where needed. It has also been a tough year as we try to introduce measures to improve our ministries in the community. There has been a significant growth in membership and in the year to come we will be looking into ways we can increase our local churches. We were blessed with important visitors from Missouri Initiative, Ezequiel and Carol and other Mozambique church leaders. We are happy that they fed us with some additional knowledge on how best we can improve doing things for the benefit of our church and community. We are still working hard in area of projects as we struggle for sustainability.
 
We would like to express our special thanks to our partners for helping us with Bibles and hymnals for our congregation that were presented before us by Mr Ezequiel. He may have sent you the photos he took us (with my DS, Rev Andre Mudungazi, and some members of my congregation) in Chicuque. The best way of recognizing this gift is to actually use them to help transform minds for a more spiritual and faithful life of our members. These materials will surely be helpful in our Sunday worship services and also will support our plans to have a bible school classes.
 
Please know that we are continuing praying for you always. We are glad for your continuous support to our church activities and to our Pastor.
 
May you enjoy the presence of God as we all celebrate Christmas and get ready for the transition.
