Second Saturday Changes
In an effort to assure the safety of everyone in attendance and best meet the needs of all families, we are making changes to our schedule and our procedures.
Registration
There will be two check-in lines – one for existing families (those already registered with Baby Grace) and one for new families. Please read the signs carefully at the next event to make sure you are in the right registration area!
Open House
The distribution center will be open for free shopping once every three months. Each family will receive one bag to fill. One registered parent from each family will use that bag for admittance into the distribution area to obtain needed items.
For safety reasons, we strongly recommend that children over the age of one do not enter the distribution center on Open House days. Children are always welcome and childcare may be available if you do not have friends or family members that can attend with you and care for your children while you are in the distribution center.
Diaper Distribution and Donation Drop Off
On diaper distribution days only diapers will be distributed. Parents registered with Baby Grace must be present to pick up their diapers; we will no longer distribute diapers to friends and relatives. If you are not able to attend our designated distribution days, we may be able to meet you by appointment, usually on Sundays. Our distribution center will not be ready for shoppers and no admittance will be allowed. You are always welcome to call and set up an appointment if you have a pressing need.
Volunteers
Baby Grace is run by full-time working mothers who volunteer their time to make this program possible. Starting in 2012, if you volunteer for Baby Grace, you can earn early admittance into the distribution center on Open House days. You may be asked to prepare food, help with check in, provide childcare, sort donations, or various other activities that are necessary to pull off a Baby Grace Open House.
In exchange, the distribution center will open at 8:15 AM on Open House days for our volunteers only. The same guidelines will apply (see above “Open House” section). A limited number of volunteer passes will be allotted for each quarter’s Open House, so please talk with Juli or Anne if you want to become a Baby Grace volunteer. You will need to provide a valid email and/or phone number so you can be made aware of opportunities as they arise.
Wish List
Baby Grace Representatives will try to find the items on your wish list but mothers are in no way guaranteed that wish list requests will be granted. Wish list items can be picked up at any event or on Sunday mornings by appointment.
